Adv. Thomas George is the Founder of Thomas George & Associates and has been designated as a Senior Advocate by the Hon’ble High Court for the State of Telangana. He hails from Kerala and was educated, mentored and guided by Prof. Sr. M. Concepta. Following his passion for law — and walking in the footsteps of his cousin who was a barrister — he completed his law degree and entered an entirely new profession, training under his mentors Mr. T. Narayana Murthy, Public Prosecutor, and Mr. V. Amar Kumar, an eminent Criminal and Civil Senior Advocate. He founded the Firm in 1998 and led it for over twenty-five years across all kinds of litigation and non-litigation work; every meaningful development at the Firm bears the imprint of his efforts. Upon his designation as a Senior Advocate, he resigned from the Firm, handed over its management to Adv. Manav Gecil Thomas, and now practises independently across Corporate, Civil & Criminal Law, Taxation, Intellectual Property, Consumer, Matrimonial and Property Laws and Arbitration. During his years at the helm of the Firm, Mr. Thomas George represented it in a plethora of cases before the Hon’ble Supreme Court, various High Courts, Tribunals, District Courts and quasi-judicial authorities. He believes in settling matters amicably through negotiation and mediation in order to resolve them quickly. His clientele has included reputed Non-Banking Financial Companies, banks, healthcare, packaging and HVAC companies, alongside individual and religious-society cases, and he has consistently undertaken pro bono cases so that justice reaches even the weakest section of society. In the development of the law he believes in, and practises, the law by interpreting it with logical reasoning. He has given innumerable talks on the nuances of various laws and has been a guide for police officers, students and religious societies on the finer points of the law. A Graduate in Law and a Post Graduate in Marketing, prior to the establishment of TG&A he held managerial positions for over 20 years at PL Worldways (a division of Peirce Leslie India Ltd., with multifaceted divisions in Finance, Shipping, Aerial Spraying and Chemicals) and at Alitalia Airlines (GSA) — experience that has equipped him with knowledge of immigration laws.
